One Year Check-up
Today Carter had is 1 year well check up thing. Here are his stats: 21.1 lbs (24%) 31.5" (92%)
18.5 " head circumference (68%). The doctor said he is looking really healthy and developmentally he's doing great. He also got 5 shots, which were pretty bad and he had been sad all day. I don't think shots have affected him this much before now but I guess it's true that the older they get, the worse it is for them.
Carter says a few words now. They include hotdog, cracker, cookie, whoa, go, hi, and hey. He also claps his hands together, walks like a pro (basically runs), dances, blows kisses, and waives bye bye. He eats everything (still) and clearly it's all going to his height. He also throws tantrums and is kind of starting to be a bully to his friend Juliet. He pushes her down and it's so sad. I have no idea where he picked it up. Carter is also going through an I-love-daddy-more-than-mommy stage. Whenever he's sad he wants Mark and when I try to take him away from Mark, he back hands me...it's not cool. Hopefully this stage won't last too much longer. Also, he loves being outside. It's still not too warm up here in the Iceburg but whenever it's remotely warm I like to take him out for a couple of minutes. He loves it. He mostly just likes running straight toward the road which is kind of scary but I'm still faster than him so it's all good. Me and Mark have decided he's a genius. One day when I was getting ready to put him down for bed I told him to grab a book and he looked at the book shelf and walked over and grabbed one...SO SMART! He also plays with cars and makes car noises like vvvroom and go! My baby genius also drinks out of a straw already. Maybe he's not a genius but I feel like most one year old didn't do that stuff at that age. But I might be a little bias. (don't burst my bubble by telling me all this stuff is perfectly normal, thanks)
Anyway, he's a great baby, uh I mean toddler, and we love him so much. We're so happy he's doing so well and growing and developing properly.
