The Big One

A few days after Lucy's birthday I took her to the doc for her baby well check up. She is 28.5 inches long (24%) and weighs 18 lbs 10 oz (31%).

She still isn't walking, which is weird for me since Carter walked so early, but it's been nice and she definitely still seems like a baby so I'm in no hurry for another one. She says mama, dada, bye, hi, uh uh, and uh oh. She loves climbing stairs and then screaming from the top because she hasn't figured out how to turn around and get down. She plays peek-a-boo and claps and waves hi. She is a pro at giving kisses and she's getting better and blowing kisses. She's also a killer dancer. Lucy loves books! If there's a pile of toys and one book, she'll crawl over to the book and start looking at the pictures. I have a book in her crib with her and when she wakes up in the morning or from naps, she sits in her bed and reads for a while before she calls for me to come and get her.

Lucy is very dramatic and emotional, a real girl. Even the slightest scold from me, Mark, or Carter and she bursts into an uncontrollable sob. It's pretty ridiculous. But as much as she cries, she also loves just as much. She is still very snuggly and gives lots of kisses. She is still very much a momma's girl even though she is getting better at going to anyone other than me. (This is the total opposite of how Carter was at this age.)

She loves playing with her brother and chasing him around. She also loves bath time. She's very smart and knows that if she has her binkie and I'm taking her upstairs, it means nap time. Lucy rocks at drinking through straws and she eats like a champ. Most of the time she eats more than Carter at meals. She takes one two hour nap everyday and she sleep 12 hours at night. Her and Carter share a room now (because Carter wanted to move his bed into her room, we think he was lonely) and for the past few days when I've gone in there in the morning, her and Carter are just hanging out in her crib. It's adorable. But sometimes she doesn't love Carter and she tries pushing him away. She also will hit Carter and then start crying as if he did something to her just to get him in trouble.

We love her so much and we're so glad she's part of our family!

Happy Birthday Lucy, we love you!
