First a little background info. The lady who got up is me neighbor and she is so nice. She's always smiling and so friendly. But we've never seen her or her family at church. We weren't sure if they were members and inactive or if they're weren't members at all. Either way, they were so nice and I've always enjoyed seeing her around the neighborhood.
Anyway, she gets up to bear her testimony today and me and Mark just look at each other like what!? It was really cool. She tells us that it's really weird for her to be up there because her and her husband haven't been to church in 12 years and this was their first Sunday back. She says that they'd been preparing to come back to church over the passed few months by reading scriptures and having family home evening and that the spirit in their home has been incredible. She said that they are so grateful for the gospel and so happy to be trying to become active members again. She bore her testimony and said that she has no doubt in her mind that this is the true church!
It. Was. So. Cool. It made me so thankful for the gospel and so hopeful for those who may be struggling. Knowing that we all can come back to Christ, no matter how far we've gone is such a blessing and so comforting. I feel so blessed to be a part of such an amazing church that brings hope and peace into my life!
